French Bulldogs are a popular breed of dog. They are known for their lovable, friendly personality.
Owning a French Bulldog can have some disadvantages as well. They need to be groomed frequently and they require a lot of exercise which is not always easy to do if you live in an apartment or small house.
Some people also think that these dogs are too short-lived because French Bulldogs have a life expectancy of only ten to twelve years.
Appearance:
Some French Bulldogs are white with a brown or black mask on their face. Other French Bulldogs can be red, blue, fawn, and brindle.
There also seem to be many different sizes of dogs in this breed; including the miniature variety which is smaller than average size at only 17 pounds.
Types:
Frenchie’s are known as “the ugly adorable” because they have their own unique look which may not please everyone. Considered one of the most popular breeds, Frenchie’s are known for their compact size and distinctive features
Pros of owning a French Bulldog:
- They are docile and intelligent, which makes them well-suited to life in an apartment.
- Generally, French Bulldogs do well with kids and other animals.
- Frenchie’s don’t tend to bark as much as other smaller breed dogs.
- Due to their popularity you’ll be sure to turn heads everywhere you go, as most people find these little dogs completely irresistible and cute!
Cons of owning a French Bulldog:
- French Bulldogs can be quite expensive to purchase.
- Frenchie’s do come with an array of common health problems and skin conditions that can have you making a good amount of trips to your local veterinarian. This can lead to having an expensive dog to maintain.
- French Bulldogs need daily mental stimulation or you might come home to a torn up house! These breeds get bored easily and can get into a good amount of mischief if left unattended too long without an ample amount of chew toys on hand!
- Frenchie’s like to cuddle a lot, so if you’re not willing to give up your bed for them every night this might not be the right breed for you.
- Frenchie’s are stubborn and independent thinkers who will only listen when they feel like it! This can lead to some major discipline issues in an otherwise perfect dog.
